Take Advantage of What a Training Centre Can Offer

Are you just getting out of high school or looking to find a new career and need some specific training for your field of choice? Or are you looking for something but don’t know exactly what it is you would like to do? You can do an Internet search of careers or jobs in the hopes one of them will inspire you. There seems to be no end to the choices available and they each offer training for their particular requirements.

However, probably the greatest help available lies within you. Years ago there was a book with this title: “Do What You Love, The Money Will Follow.” Some people love things that produce very little money, but let’s put the money subject aside and focus on doing what you love. The fact remains; when you are passionate about something it is not a job but something you really enjoy. When you are doing what you genuinely love, you don’t do it for the money. So, ask yourself, “What do I love doing?”  Let that be your compass. When you just can’t wait to get back to doing it, you know you have found your passion. Never choose a career path that someone else thinks you should take. When you do that, decades later you will still wish you had followed you heart.

There have been many people that have gone down in history books as great – great in their accomplishments and contributions to mankind. There are too many to list here, but here are just a couple examples. When Abraham Lincoln was a young man, reading from candle light in a log cabin, who would have ever thought that one-day he would rise to be the President of the United States? It would certainly not have seemed likely. The parents of many little children, watching them learning to walk and talk, could have never imagined that one day their child would become a famous composer like Beethoven or Mozart. Artists from Leonardo daVinci to Rembrandt to today’s Akiane Kramarik* have given so much to the world. Why have each of them become known as great? All they did was do what they loved to do. They couldn’t help but follow their heart.

Many times we think we know the direction we should go, and because of serendipity we stumble on to the place we were meant to be all along. (Serendipity: “A seeming gift for finding good things accidentally.”) There is a Proverb that says, “In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps.” Did you know, according to scripture, that God has a plan for you? Sometimes it turns out to be something you never thought you would ever do.

Perhaps you haven’t given much thought to God directing your life’s path and you would like to learn more about it. There is a Training Centre that is sometimes forgotten, yet within it’s pages are many, many lessons. The Bible tells us, in Psalm 121:1-2, “I lift up my eyes to the hills – where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.” (New International Version) Life is so much better when we honor God and follow his direction for our lives. When we do this, God is always there to help us with our problems. When we have God as the center of our lives and live according to his will, we are given wonderful promises. When Jesus was here on earth, he said, “Ask and it will be given to you, seek and you will find, knock and the door will be opened to you.” Matthew 7:7. We ask through prayer, and when we pray, believing, God answers, Mark 11:24.

There is something very important to understand about prayer. First, we must belong to God and believe in him. And then we must not doubt. A lot of people say they feel like their prayers aren’t reaching God… that they don’t go past the ceiling. As soon as we think that, we are doubting. Let’s say you need to find the right kind of job or career to take care of your family. You really need wisdom to make the right decision and so you pray for that wisdom. James 1:5 tells us this, “If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.” This is one of those wonderful promises from God, but there is also something required on our parts. Verses 6-8 tell us what that is. “But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does.”

Believe in God and believe God. The formula given in God’s Word, our greatest Training Center, is this, “Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4-7.

As you search for occupational training, let God help you. You will be glad you did.
